Hi Seongja,
I hope that you are well and that your study has not been too demanding of you. You will be looking forward to being together with your children next week for Chuseok I imagine. I expect that you will be busy for much of next week preparing special food for the ceremonies.
I am on vacation from tomorrow for three weeks. Tomorrow is my last teaching day on my old contract. After three weeks vacation I will have been in Korea for 12 months. Doesn't the time go by so swiftly?
When I am on vacation I will spend most of my time here in Korea, probably in Gimje or on some short visits to other places. I also have one very short trip overseas to Thailand planned, to see friends of mine from New Zealand who have a home in Chiang Mai. That will be from 13 to 18 October only.
When my vacation is over I will be starting my new contract and beginning my second year in Korea!!! I am excited about that.
The last two weekends Hoy Kyoung and I have been to the Sori Festival and spent quite a bit of time there. It was very interesting with some great performances and wonderful artists featured. Did you manage to go there? I really liked the Korean traditional instruments, like the Gayaguem, Hageum and Okorina. They made some great melodies. Because I like them so much Hoy Kyoung has even bought me some CDs with this music on them.
I hope that you are well and I am looking forward to trying to see you with Hoy Kyoung in the very near future. Her knees are a bit better than they have been feeling for her, and with the cooler weather it is easier for her to be walking out during the day times.
