Dear Seongja,

It is lovely to hear from you. It has been such a long time since we caught up. I imagine you have been busy too, as we have been here.

There has been so much happening, with one thing and another going on for us, over the past few months. Probably the most enjoyable thing was a very short holiday that we managed to squeeze in at the end of January. HK and I managed to have the shortest of vacations together, only four days and three nights. It was far too short. We went on a package tour to Kyushu in Japan. It was the first time either of us had been to Japan and we both enjoyed what we saw of the place very much. We would hope to go and see more of Japan at some time in the future.

Your trip to Taiwan sounds interesting. I have not been there, but one day it would be somewhere that I wouldn't mind going to.

The good news is that my back is now so much better after having had the surgery on it. I have no real problem with it any more, unless I get tired, or I lift something that is too heavy. As long as I am careful, everything is OK.

Thank you for thinking of me to work with your husband's colleagues Seongja. At this time, I don't have details of my schedule for teaching with the Gimje Education Office for 2008 yet, so I cannot make any definite commitment to take on any more regular private lessons, over and above the ones that I am already taking. once I know my schedule for the first semester, I will have a better idea of whether or not it is possible for me to do additional private classes.

I don't know if it would be of any help to your husband's colleagues, but I am currently not scheduled to teach, except for my private classes, from now until 3 March 2008. Because of that, I have plenty of spare time on quite a few days and I could possibly help the teachers with their study, a bit like running an Elementary School teachers' English Camp, over the next week to 10 days.

I would propose that if the teachers are interested, and available, for such study, it should be focussed upon some Conversational and Classroom English lessons. As far as fees go, we could negotiate those, once we have an idea of how many hours and days that they may wish to study over the next week or so.

Later on, once I know my 2008 teaching schedule for the Gimje Education Office, we can consider further whether it is feasible to run classes for the teachers on a regular basis. I am sorry that I cannot make a firmer commitment to them at this time, but I am sure that they will understand that I must give my priority to the schools that I get assigned to first and then work my private lessons around that schedule.

Again, it is so lovely to hear from you Seongja. I hope you and you husband and children are all well. I hope that you all enjoyed the New Year and I wish you all the very best for 2008.

My warmest regards,

Paul
