Hello Seong Ja,

So lovely to hear from you. I have been terribly remiss in my contact this year.
It may be small consolation, but you're not the only one who hasn't heard from me in ages.
My sister and my aunt in New Zealand have both been wondering what has happened to me!!!

I have to say that the second half of 2007 has not been an especially good one for us here in Gimje,
what with my back and other things it has really been a bit of a dreadful half-year.
Hoy Kyoung and I are hoping that 2008 will usher in some better fortune for us and better health for both of us too.

At least we have got some snow with us to bring in the New Year, although it didn't arrive in time for Christmas, did it?

I hope you and your husband have had a good Christmas and will enjoy a wonderful New Year.
